Dreamy Objects series
I used a tilt shift lens to capture this image and took it during the time of day with a neutral background and light. For this image, I did not want to crop out parts in order to fit a certain dimension. As a result, you'll see that there are white borders on many sizes. For one of the 16x20 versions, the white border is large and is an inexpensive way to create a "matted" look without using a matte. Have a large white border makes an image more precious. It's as if you placed the image on a soft, white pillow.
This beautiful ship was displayed in Trafalgar Square for a few years around 2010 and is a scaled down version of HMS Victory. This ship is famous as Lord Nelson's flagship in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Yinka Shonibare, a London based artist, created the model and it is now permanently displayed in the UK.
